I am either currently subscribed to these online muay thai learning resources or have used them in the past.

I find these 5 to be the best to learn muay thai online.

And if you are interested in learning the most important and fundamental muay thai aspects at home with zero equipment – please check out this resource I put together – “How to Start Muay Thai at Home” 5 Week Video course.

Note that there are many other sources of information available for free to learn muay thai online through YouTube and other free sites like this site – Fiji Muay Thai.

The 5 resources in this post are paid subscriptions so they will cost you some money.

Also be aware that some of the links in this article are affiliate links. I will earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Also these commissions help Fiji Muay Thai to keep putting out helpful content like this article.

But I feel they are high quality and are of great value for someone training mostly solo from home.

Also these programs are great for providing learning tools and training programs and workouts for those who want to supplement their live training with their own home workouts.

Here are my Top 5 Recommended ‘Paid’ Resources to Learn Muay Thai Online

#1 Nak Muay Nation

Nak Muay Nation is an online community of muay thai, kickboxing and MMA striking students and practitioners.

It was started by muay thai fighters Sean Fagan and Paul Banasiak and striking technical analyst and expert Lawrence Kenshin.

Membership to Nak Muay Nation grants you access to 200 plus muay thai videos including technique tutorials, heavy bag workouts, sparring breakdowns, fight analysis and private lessons with professional champions.

Also included are over 10 comprehensive muay thai courses you gain instant access to and these include:

As a Nak Muay Nation member you get access to all of the eBooks that both Sean and Lawrence have put together, including – Striking Techniques: Volume 1, Muay Thai Mastery, Thailand Training Guide, Fuel The Fighter, and more.

There is also a Members Only Facebook Group – made for Nak Muay Nation members to help each other as an online community.

Sean, Lawrence, Paul, Chris and others are active in the group to answer questions and give advice.

How much is the subscription?

Nak muay nation monthly subscription is USD $39 per month.

Unlike the BMT and Duke Roufus programs discussed, Nak muay nation gives a very holistic approach to muay thai and includes a lot on strength and conditioning and nutrition including resources for you if you plan on visiting Thailand to train.

Is the program good for beginners?

Yes!

Nak Muay Nation caters to all levels of nak muay and is quite comprehensive in that it covers not only traditional muay thai and kickboxing technique but also nutrition and strength and conditioning as well as mindset training for fighters.

Cons of the Nak muay nation program

The major con I would say is the cost.

It is the most expensive of the programs I am recommending.

However if you can afford it, nak muay nation is really as they say, “a one stop shop for muay thai”.

This is so in that if you are planning on a full training program the aspects of nutrition, S&C and recovery and mobility are covered here.

And the online community through the Members only Facebook page really makes this online resource one of the very best.

#2 Bang Muay Thai

I have written previously about Bang muay thai the system developed by Duane Ludwig which has it’s origins in Bas Ruttens striking style, Dutch kickboxing, Japanese kickboxing, muay thai and MMA.

The Bang Muay thai system includes belt rankings and testing for these rankings must be done in person at HQ in Colorado or an affiliate school.

The current weekly curriculum is about 2.5 years worth of weekly instruction that is structured and builds upon what you learn as your foundation.

Check out the video above for a small sample of what is offered through BMT online. You can learn more about the BMT online learning system here.

How Much is the subscription?

Currently the subscription is USD $24.99 per month.

The core of the system is the weekly lessons that start from the basics and build on the foundations.

In addition to the core BMT system curriculum there are bonus videos and seminars with instruction from Bas Rutten, Nick Hemmers, Pete Spratt and TJ Dillashaw.

Is it good for beginners?

Yes it is.

The very first few weeks of the program go over stance and footwork and may seem a bit too basic if you have some amount of experience.

However over time and building on this foundation the complex ‘ninja’ combinations that the system is known for will emerge from these foundations.

Cons of the BMT system

The main con of the system I would say is that it doesn’t teach you traditional muay thai in the sense of what is seen at Lumpinee and Rajadamnern stadiums in Thailand.

The style is more of a Dutch kickboxing foundation but with a focus on MMA striking.

So if you want to learn traditional muay thai online than this may not be the best fit for you.

But to learn effective striking technique based on muay thai and Dutch kickboxing with a structured curriculum that is constantly being updated – this is the place!

#3 Duke Roufus Online Striking University (DRSU)

The Roufus family is a highly respected family in the martial arts and kickboxing world in the United States. Duke Roufus brother, Rick Roufus was a world champion kick boxer and so was Duke Roufus.

In fact Duke Roufus brings 40 years of experience in fight knowledge and he gives great detail and depth in his instruction.

Now that his attention has turned to coaching Duke has coached some of the best strikers at the high level of UFC including Anthony Pettis, Sergio Pettis and Tyrone Woodley.

Check out a sample of what Duke Roufus teaches in the video below.

Duke Roufus system also includes belt gradings and rankings and an affiliate program if you become a certified coach in the system.

The weekly content I must say is very detailed and rich.

Duke Roufus has a long history of training in the Thailand style and with Thai fighters and teachers he brought to the United States.

Compared to the BMT system, Duke Roufus style definitely will give you a better understanding appreciation of real muay thai.

You can read my Review of the Duke Roufus Online Striking University (DRSU) as a long time member since 2014.

How much is the subscription?

The monthly subscription is USD $17

This includes weekly instruction that builds on the foundation of stance and footwork that Duke gives very deep and clear instruction on.

Is it good for beginners?

100% yes.

Like the BMT system, Duke Roufus puts a lot of emphasize on the basics of stance and footwork and building a solid foundation in the basics.

In addition there is much more richer content in areas of the thai clinch as well applications to MMA.

Cons of the system

Overall as an online system for muay thai I would say the Duke Roufus online university is very close to a complete system that is great for beginners and advanced level students alike.

Being completely available online it is perfect for those wanting to train and learn muay thai online and at home.

#4 Evolve University

Evolve University is the online learning resource for Evolve MMA out of Singapore.

Evolve MMA was started by Chatri Sityodtong who is also the founder of ONE Championship. Many of the trainers at Evolve MMA and Evolve online University fight and compete in ONE Championship and are World Champions as well.

There is online instruction in muay thai, BJJ, MMA, boxing, wrestling and submission grappling.

In terms of muay thai, Evolve MMA has an incredible roster of instructors (which is one of the reasons I have visited and trained at Evolve MMA twice) with multiple muay thai world champions teaching and instructing at Evolve MMA as well as on the online learning resource.

Training at Evolve MMA in Singapore

Check out my review of my time training at Evolve MMA in Singapore here.

How much is the subscription?

The Evolve University online subscription is USD 9.95 per month for unlimited library access to all levels and all the video learning resources including BJJ, MMA, boxing, wrestling and submission grappling as well as muay thai of course.

Is the program good for beginners?

Yes the online resource is good for beginners and offers levels ranging from:

  • Basics
  • Beginner
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced

Cons of the Evolve Online University

The major con I would say is that there isn’t a focus on stance and footwork for beginners just starting out in muay thai which I feel is crucial to set the foundation for your muay thai.

There are many great detailed techniques taught by muay thai greats such as Namsaknoi, Yoddecha Sityodtong and others.

#5 Sylvie von Douglas-Ittu– Lessons from Legends

I have been a $5 Patreon contributor to Sylvie’s muay thai work online for a while now.

This is really the minimum amount you can pledge and the value you get from this alone is huge.

There is currently 67 hours of training videos with a goal to get to 100 hours.

Sylvie has been living and fighting in Thailand for a number of years now and is currently seeking to reach her target of 200 fights in Thailand after surpassing her original goal of 100 fights.

Sylvie’s travels Thailand and seeks out private instruction from all of the best trainers in the country.

Each of these sessions are one hour plus which she shares with her Patreon contributors.

The names of the trainers she trains with are too numerous to all include here but just to mentions some of them, Dieselnoi, Samart, Sagat, Yodhkunpon, Kem, Karuhat, Burklek and the list goes on and on and on. Check out the small sample below.

I support Sylvie because of her efforts to “preserve the legacy”. Whats amazing is that through the power of the internet we are also able to experience her training sessions with the greats and to take away from these lessons as well.

You can gain access to Sylvie’s muay thai library here.

How much does it cost?

The suggested pledge is $5 per month and you can access the 15 latest training sessions with muay thai legends which I think is really incredible value.

I currently pledge $10 a month which grants me access to the full video library of muay thai legends.

But for just $5 a month you get a lot of value for sure.

Is it good for beginners?

Again I would say yes, beginners can learn a lot form this. But maybe you would consider a more structured program that starts with the foundation basics and builds on them.

Sylvie learns a lot of legendary trainers personal styles and favorite techniques which is amazing but may not be the best for beginners without a solid foundation.

Cons of the program

Mainly just that the content isn’t structured in a learning system as in the other online programs I have recommended in this post.

But, apart from that, the overall content is pure legendary value.

Final words

So there you have it.

My Top 5 recommendations of ‘paid’ programs and resources to learn muay thai online and their costs and features of these systems.

I have also included a bonus resource which has really great value I believe but is not so much a structured program to learn muay thai as the other 4 I recommend.

Check them out and read other reviews and decide that if you want to spend some money for quality online instruction then these places are great resources to start with learn muay thai online.
