8 Best Muay Thai Hand Wraps from Thailand

Muay thai hand wraps are extremely important for the long term health of your wrist and knuckle.

Some of the best muay thai hand wraps are also made by the top brand names in muay thai which includes Fairtex, Top King and Twins among others.

That is not to say that hand wraps produced outside of Thailand are not suitable for muay thai.

As long as the wraps feature good length and width, strong but flexible cotton (some people prefer more rigid cotton) and strong secure velcro straps at the end then they are also suitable.

The Top muay thai brands such as Fairtex, Yokkao, Twins and others, are trusted names in the industry and the quality of the hand wraps that they do make are more than sufficient for most peoples training needs.

Fairtex wraps

Fairtex muay thai hand wraps are some of the best quality wraps you can get.Full-length elastic.

The Fairtex wraps are made from soft flexible cotton and come in the 180 inch length which is plenty.

The flexible and elastic cotton of these wraps make them fit well on anyone’s hands.

In addition to being well fitting and comfortable the wraps are known for being durable.

Top King

Top King is another leading muay thai brand and the hand wraps they produce are also of high quality.

Twins

Twins is another leading brand in muay thai. The hand wraps produced by Twins are known to be durable and come in a wide variety of colors.

However a couple of reviews of Twins hand wraps found them to be more rigid and less flexible than Fairtex and Top King hand wraps. One notable review was from BJJ spot.com you can read the review here.

BOON Sport

The BOON Sport brand is another Thai made brand that is well respected in muay thai and has been for some time.

The BOON hand wraps are among the best muay thai hand wraps you can have.

BOON wraps are handmade from 90% elasticated (Stretchable) Cotton and 10% lycra and come with Velcro ends which are standard for securing the wraps on your hands.

YOKKAO wraps

Although one of the newer brands on the scene, beginning in 2011, YOKKAO is still one of the bigger brands out of Thailand.

The length of these wraps are shorter than 180 inches or 4.5 metres as with the other leading muay thai brand wraps.

One review you can read here, noted that the YOKKAO wraps were listed at 4 metres but when measured came out as only 3.5 metres in length.

The reduced length can be an issue for those who like a lot of wrapping and want to get the most out of every inch.

YOKKAO wraps are also made of elasticated cotton which is thick and strong but flexible too.

The velcro strap on the YOKKAO wraps are of high quality which is important in keeping the wraps in place when training.

Thaismai wraps

Thaismai is one of the oldest muay thai brands out of Thailand.

It can also be one of the harder brands to get gear from online.

The iconic Flag of Thailand Thaismai hand wraps look really great and they come in 100% cotton.

The wraps also come in extra long length at 200 inches with an extra 20 inches more than most brands out there.

Which to Buy?

I would advise that if possible to have at least two pairs of wraps.

An important aspect is the length and if you like extra length wraps then the Sandee wraps provide the most length at 5 metres.

Based on popularity and online purchases Fairtex and Top King are a trusted brand and easy to purchase online. They are known for comfort and durability.

Lesser known brands internationally such as Windy, Sandee and Thaismai are not as easy to access with less reviews available to read online in comparison to Fairtex and Top King.

Newer brands such as YOKKAO (est 2011) and BOON (est. 2002) provide original, attractive and durable wraps.

They also innnovate in their products and BOON has produced a less elastic wrap that still fits comfrotably.

While YOKKA produces some of the most visually appealing wraps in colors such as bright pink, orange and the Thai flag colors.

It’s really up to you which you choose. I would advise checking them out online and I am sure you will find one that you like from the brands I have listed above.
